Veganism

The 1st of November is the World Vegan Day, established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, president of the United Kingdom Vegan Society, but, what is veganism?
Veganism is a type of lifestyle based on the respect of animals. Vegans don’t eat animal foodstuffs or other food that contain any type of animal nutrients, like biscuits, honey... Besides, they don’t wear clothes that come from animals.

The first of November was established as the World Vegan Day by the United Kingdom Vegan Society in its 50th anniversary, to show the benefits of this lifestyle, mostly to non vegan or vegetarian people, showing that this option is reasonable, accessible and healthy to live, to nourish and to wear without provoking damage to animals. In any case, Spain is a country that isn’t very developed in the vegan attitude comparing it with other countries, because there is a lot of ignorance about this lifestyle, according to the Spanish Vegan Association.

In addition, vegans inform that ranching pollutes the environment, because contamination is not only throwing rubbish to the soil, it also means all things that don’t belong to the environment. According to that, agriculture may also pollute the environment, to produce vegetables, we only need vegetables, but to produce animal foods, we need vegetables and animals.
Vegans also consider that ecological products are better for our world, because to produce vegetables, chemical products are not used and natural fertilizers and pesticides are optimized, so there is less pollution in the environment, which produces more profits for all of us.
